Support comes in so many ways for BSGW’s Bead Museum and provides you options to become involved with us.

Volunteering

By being a Bead Museum Volunteer, you will…

Learn about beads
Meet interesting, friendly people
Know you are contributing to the success of this specialty museum

There is so much you can do, such as help

Greet the public and answer questions
Operate the Museum Shop
Provide tours and programs
Work behind-the-scenes
Assist with PR and volunteer recruitment
and more….

In recognition of volunteers’ commitment, they receive a 10% discount in the Museum Store off of all purchases, except memberships. Please complete an application if you would like to get more involved.

Becoming a Member

As a member of The Bead Museum, you are also a member of the Bead Society of Greater Washington. If you join, you receive our informative newsletter, which updates you about Museum events and bead news from around the world, a 10% discount on books in the Museum Shop, borrowing privileges from the lending library at monthly meetings, access to the Library at the Museum, and the opportunity to exhibit at the semi-annual Bead Bazaar.

As a Contributor, Supporter, Sponsor, Patron, or Benefactor, you will also belong to the Chevron Circle and receive:

Personal invitations to previews, receptions, and special events
Reminders of upcoming events
A complimentary gift certificate redeemable for the purchase of books or other items, at the Museum or Bazaars.

Most importantly, you receive the satisfaction of knowing that the generous support of the Chevron Circle makes a difference.

If you are between the ages of 7-14, you may also wish to join the Junior Bead Club.

Giving a Gift

The Bead Museum is always interested in gifts of beads and jewelry to sell in the Store, and especially for educational programs. We are also interested to know of beads and jewelry for donation to the collection.

If you would prefer to make a financial gift, we welcome any amount to help support our exhibitions, programs, and operations. Donations can be received by mail to 400 7th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20004, or payable by credit card by phone, (202) 624-4500.
